Event Description:
Race being a social construct comes with a lot of nuances. Nuances with unique complexities that vary throughout different parts of the world. Come join the Hermanos of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda, Fraternity Inc. and the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as we take you through a guided discussion of the complex topic. Learn why sentiments such as “I no black, I Dominican” or “Hay que mejorar la raza” (We have to better the race) came to existence. We will be joined by 3 alumni panelists that have experienced different aspects of the racial dilemma in their own unique ways in order to provide structure to the conversation. We are excited to provide a space to facilitate a healthy discussion over such a complex topic. We hope to see you soon.
